Inclusive by Design. Built BY Makers.

WHO WE ARE

OP Makerspaces is a nonprofit organization focused on making art and creativity accessible to everyone. We design inclusive environments where people of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds can explore, learn, and create together. Through permanent makerspaces and mobile art programs, we bring hands-on artistic experiences directly into neighborhoods across King County, with a special focus on serving underserved communities.

Taking Creativity on the Road

WHAT IS ART MIGRATION

Art Migration is Otter & Penguin Makerspaces’ initiative to transform a retired Metro bus into a fully equipped traveling art studio. Once purchased, OP Makerspaces will retrofit the bus into a functional mobile makerspace designed to host hands-on creative programs.

The bus will offer free and low-cost classes, remaining in neighborhoods for several weeks at a time. Participants gain practical skills, guided instruction, and materials they can continue using after the bus moves on.

Your support helps fund the bus purchase, retrofit, supplies, instructors, and outreach efforts that bring programming to schools, parks, and community centers across King County. With your support, we can ensure access to hands-on art experiences no matter where someone lives.
